LOOKING DEEPER THAN THE SURFACE!

This morning I tuned in to a rebroadcast of a sermon by Bishop Joseph L. Walker, III (Pastor of Mt. Zion Full Gospel Baptist Church of Nashville, TN. ) His message referenced Psalms 84:6 "Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools." Now, Baca was a stretch of land that was filled with dry dessert places, vipers, and wild animals. Yet, it was the only way to pass through to get to the land of promise. As I went through the day, I heard many references of going through to get to the other side. Waiting for your season of prosperity and enduring the pain to receive the promise were common themes of this day. That was important to me, because I find myself in a season of uncertainty and mountains of "not yet" in the atmosphere. Yet, I write this entry to encourage you that read as I encourage myself that t this is not the end of things. It is the way that we must travel to receive the fullness of blessings and prosperity. Those referenced in Psalm 84 made a well from the resources that they had and filled pools to draw water that they might be able to get to the other side. While pulling from their internal resource, they were strengthened in mind and body. They were able to get through this struggle because they relied on themselves.In this life we tend to reach outside of ourselves for help. We forget that we have a built-in resource that was planted in us from the very beginning. My blog post indicates that what I may be going through is not shown on my outer cover. Yet, my resilience is shown. Sometimes we must just pray and/or encourage each other. While we go through wilderness and dessert experience we gain strength for the day that the promised reward will surely come.
